Initially inspired by natural tones of watercolor paintings using light as a source to capture
the mood of the subject, my work has evolved to studying rich brush works with deep
contrast in hue to highlight the essence of its focal point resulting in loose but believable oil
paintings.
The last few years have been a path of stepping stones while raising a family of 6, beginning in
2010 with an attendance at Artprize amidst other gallery shows. Representation with Ugallery
gave experience with the AAF spring show in New York, NY, as well as building an international
collector base. In the spring of 2012 fortunately I was awarded the Guilded Feather award as the
Inaugural FWAC Master Artist and also able to experience a first time hands on training while
attending a 2 week workshop at the Scottsdale School of Arts in Scottsdale Arizona. In 2013, a
grant from the Minnesota states artboard will help achieve goals of attending outdoor artfairs
and continued study.
